Ley Hill

This group of four paintings are described variously as in their captions below. I believe they all relate to Grove Farm in Ashley Green.  The capitalised captions were added later from memory when the paintings were donated to the Bucks Count Museum and the location recorded as Ley Hill not far from Ashley Green is likely an error.

Grove Farm in Ashley Green is a moated farm and it is reputed to have contained a chapel.  Historical records show that the former Manor House included the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene.  It could well have been referred to as Chapel Farm.

Barns

These studies of barns and their structure are probably of barns around Amersham.

The last two show the structure of The Tithe Barn, Chesham Bois, before its first conversion to a studio. The beams are as I recall them.
