Buttercup

{Buttercup]

Buttercup was the gardener at The Tithe Barn. I remember him from when I played in the garden. It was Buttercup’s habit to stroll to the Boot & Slipper for a pint of cider at lunch time and in the afternoon he often dozed off lying in a wheel barrow. I remember Aunt Car telling me “Don’t disturb Buttercup.” I used to watch the bees visiting his moustache, where, no doubt, traces of cider were to be had.
